This site is dedicated to the memory of Desiree Molloy.

The wonderful Desiree Molloy (nee Binz) was born on the 13th January 1958 and lived in Tyne and Wear with husband Mick and children Andrew, 11 and Danielle, 17. Desiree was diagnosed with IPF in July 2007 which as of yet has no known cause or cure. It is a formidable and frightening disease which Desiree bravely fought while maintaining her zest for life. She continued to be a wonderful and caring mother and wife (the very best) who stayed the witty and kind person she always was despite her ongoing struggle. Sadly mum passed away on the 3rd of October 2008 due to the onset of PCP, a rare form of pneumonia. Desiree was one of life's constants, a perfectionist and a loyal friend to everyone, the best way to describe her would be to say she was in many ways a "good samaritan" . She helped whoever she could whenever she could, was very selfless and honest and always stood up for the underdog. Not only did she give her life to her family but she also devoted all her working life to children with special needs; working from the age of 16 as a nursery nurse right up until the last month of her life. We as a family believe that Desiree would be glad that we would devote time just as she did to others in need and who are suffering from IPF and Lung diseases. Mum did us proud and now its our turn to contribute, consequently we believe that the best way to honour her memory is to establish a fund in her name. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed already! From her ever-loving family
